Trauma & Complex Trauma(C-PTSD): Resolving deep-seated patterns, nervous system dysregulation, and developmental trauma. We address what you might call "anxiety" or "depression," but is actually rooted in long-term nervous system dysregulation and developmental trauma.
Performance Optimization: Strategic psychological work based on performance psychology for Founders, Executives, and Professionals to maximize potential and clear any internal "blocks" or "ADHD-like" symptoms that limit clarity and execution.
Identity & Relationship Resolution: Changing the repetitive patterns and emotional triggers that insight alone hasn't fixed.
Depth & Schema Work: Transitioning from "knowing" your patterns to actively reshaping your internal architecture.

The Silvering Process:
A Depth-Oriented & Neuroscience-Informed Approach to Trauma and Excellence
Silvering, n. the process by which clear glass becomes a mirror.
A thin layer of liquid silver is applied—and suddenly, reflection becomes possible.
Each of us moves through life looking out through a unique perceptual lens, shaped by our experiences, relationships, and beliefs—often without realizing we are doing so. Like clear glass with its own curvature, this lens bends reality— sometimes ever so slightly, sometimes significantly. It can distort, correct, or magnify what we see, and it quietly informs our expectations, our interpretations, and the choices we believe are available to us. Much of this happens outside of awareness.
Psychotherapy, as I practice it, is a process of silvering.
The foundation of my work is the silvering of that lens. I use an attuned and discerning approach to cultivate awareness and collaboratively apply that reflective substance (the silver, as it were), so that what was once unconscious becomes visible and knowable.
Together, we construct a mirror.
In that mirror, thoughts, emotions, and patterns are no longer simply happening to you. They can be seen as expressions of you, and of how you’ve learned to understand yourself and navigate the world. From this vantage point, real choice becomes possible: what to nurture, what to release, and what to consciously shape going forward.
At this stage, reflection is paired with action. This is the clinical integration of depth psychology with neuroscience-informed techniques for core belief reprogramming, somatic processing, and psychological optimization. I curate tools and techniques to move you from insight to choice and finally into lived change.
This is where seeing clearly meets living differently.
Meet Dr. Nicole K. Gause
Most people don't arrive at therapy naming their experience as trauma. They arrive describing anxiety, a nagging ache of unfulfillment, patterns they can't break, or a quiet sense that something isn’t working for them.
I founded Silvering Psychological because those people deserve more than symptom management — they deserve a mirror precise enough to bring clarity, and an approach effective enough to bring lasting change.
Beyond the clinical frameworks of trauma/complex trauma (C-PTSD) and performance, my work is about the human capacity for real, enduring change. I partner with individuals ready to move from insight into action.
